Route Highlights: Start: Chepstow Drill Hall, South Wales Finish: Waterguard Pub, Cardiff Bay Distance: 100 miles (160 km) Elevation Gain: 1,710 meters Terrain: A mix of gravel tracks, tarmac roads, canal path, old tramroads, and singletrack trails The ride commences along the picturesque Wye Valley Greenway, a former railway line offering a flat and scenic start, including passage through the Tidenham Tunnel. After crossing the River Wye into Tintern, the route delves deeper into the Wye Valley towards Cleddon, featuring a rewarding tarmac climb up Beacon Hill. Riders then encounter gravel sections and approximately 15 miles of tarmac before reaching the first of two feed stations.
