This challenge has been set up by Nick and Hannah from East of England Paddlesports. In August 2019, one of Nicks family friends Oliver Joynson was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. Nick set himself a huge challenge to Stand Up Paddleboard 70KM in a continuous 24 hour period, to help raise some funds for the Joynson family to support Oli and his two young daughters. Due to COVID-19 we were unable to continue with training and one of the team members had to shield until late 2020, meaning we had to postpone the challenge. Unfortunately Oli lost his battle to MND in summer 2020, so Nick has teamed up with Hannah Johns from East of England Paddlesports to get the challenge completed. In August 2021 we are going to Paddle 24 Hours continuously from Bishop Stortford to London (Paddington Basin) Our two chosen charities to support are the Motor Neurone Disease Association and Mid and North East Essex Mind. Every penny donated will help keep us motivated to finish our training and get this mammoth paddle done (70KM).
