1 in 4 women experience domestic violence. In more than 60% of these incidents, children will be present for this abuse. EVE is the domestic violence shelter in Ingham County. They also provide sexual assault response services to Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton county, and provide legal advocacy at the PPO office in Lansing. I became motivated to perform a fundraiser for EVE when this year’s annual golf outing had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic. Their golf outing is a significant fundraising event in their budget often raising $20,000 to $25,000. The cancellation left the shelter with a need.
