Like many others, my GB Escapade finished early.. so very wet and cold and minus working brakes.

Training for a long distance event requires a lot from you. Not just time on the bike, but planning and preparation. Not wanting this to go to waste, this is a personal challenge on a route I have been interested in doing for some time. I will be riding self-supported in the sprit of the GB Escapade with the aim to finish in under 48 hours.

.. but why not the Escapade route? Maybe the horror of that deluge laden night is perhaps a little too fresh in my memory, but as I completed the event last year and have ridden sections of it again this year as part of my training I do not feel that it is a box I need to tick. Instead, I found myself drawn towards new scenery and the Kings Alfreds Way also worked logistically... so here I am.
