East Kent Coastal Trial is an unsupported reliability ride around Kent’s eastern-most coastline. There are five controls point scattered around in roughly a circular distribution.
The trial is open to complete anytime during June 2020. Riders must make their own way to each of the five control points (four plus the start/finish control) in whatever order they choose and finish by returning to their first checkpoint. There is no set order in which the checkpoints need to be completed making this a great way to test your skills at routing an efficient course around some of East Kent’s finest roads. It can be completed in around 80 miles but your own route plan will dictate your final distance.
To successfully complete the trial proof of your attendance at each checkpoint is needed by uploading a selfie of yourself with the specified proof in the background of the photo. Six photos in total are required including one at the finish when you return to your starting checkpoint. All photos need to be uploaded to your ride data on Map My Tracks.
Choose to ride solo or as a pair but do not complete this trial as part of a group ride. All riders must be self-sufficient. This is an unsupported event so ensure that your bike is roadworthy and that you have all the provisions you need. At all times observe the highway code.
There are no prizes to be won and no official cut-off time so take as much time as you need to enjoy the ride but remember the clock never stops. Have fun.
