This CBC ride starts from Stratford International Station taking in Richmond Park, Box Hill, Ide Hill, Carter's Hill before heading back to Canterbury. The ride covers 120 miles with around 2000 metres of climbing some of the famous climbs along the North Downs.
Orange group riders will get the train from Canterbury West station on Saturday October 17 at 07:23. Black group riders will get the 07:37 train from Canterbury West station. On arrival at Stratford International one group will leave immediately with the second group leaving 15 minutes afterwards. In line with current club measures group sizes will be limited to six riders. The number of groups on the road and the pace will depend on how many riders attend this ride. There will be a ride leader assigned to each group.
This ride will take all day so you will need to bring front and rear lights with you as well as some high visibility clothing. Ensure that your bike is in good working order and that you bring everything you need for a full day out on the bike including spares and food.
Coffee and lunch stops will be planned along the route by the ride leader. There are plenty of spots to take a break including Box Hill cafe at 38 miles, Ide Hill cafe at 66 miles or in Lenham at 100 miles. The ride passes through plenty of villages with opportunities to stop off for lunch if the group wishes.
The route passes through the centre of London where you will be riding on cycle paths and roads. It's a picturesque route but be aware that there will be some busy roads to ride on in places.
