Hello,

Your program looks very impresssive and got my attention.
Having installed the program on my mobile it starts perfectly.
I am able to put in my username and password.
And I think the BT GPS is connected after searching for it and selecting it.
(Is there a way to see that your GPS is connected to the program?)

But ........

......when I select “Where am I” a screen comes on saying: “Stand by, aquiring GPS”, switches to a following screen where I see a yellow hair-cross (and some moving circles?).
Directly after that the progam stops with the message “application error”.
The text in the data screen reads: “No Class Def Found Error java/lang/Noclass DefFoundError java/security/MessageDigest”

......when I select “Track”, I can give the track a name, select private. After selecting “Start” again an application error.
The message text is now “Illegal Argument java/lang/IllegalArgumentException”.

Hope you can do something with this information and put me back on track ;-)

I am also using “TrackMyYourney”.
This works OK, registers my tracks on the website but has NO live maps.

Success,
And thanks in advance.

Hi,
It seems that you are getting errors at the point at which the software attempts to download map tiles (the animated circles indicate the loading process)
I’ll look into this for you and get back to you.

Regards,
Rob

Hello Rob,

Thank you for your quick response.
Hope you can discover where the “hick-up” is located.

Regards.

Hi buzinator, thanks for trying out Map My Tracks. If you have done so already it might be worth trying to use the unsigned version. Download details can be found here.

I know that we have had users successfully install and use it on the 6120C. Hopefully the unsigned version will do the trick.

Hi Nick,
Tried installing the version 1.3.1 unsigned version.  It works better but not quite all good yet… Running WHERE AM I now works, it is able to pull up the map etc.

Running TRACK still doesn’t work though, it stays saying “stand by...”, no maps or latitude / longitude information shows up.  There are no more Exception Errors etc as before… I can see the tracks entry get created online but no position data…

bunzinator, when it sticks on ‘Standby’ are you seeing a green bar at the top of the screen saying connecting? If so, does it stay on screen or does it disappear and keep coming back?

hi no, the conencting text at the top is gone by that stage.

I think my phone probably just doesn’t have enough memory to run the application.  I got it going once or twice this morning but had to turn my phone on and off in between them to get it going.  Other times, everything would be working but the position doesn’t want to update (even though I tried another GPS programme on the phone and the GPS is indeed sending location updates).

Anyway, I think I’ll give up now.  Maybe later when I have a better phone I’ll give this cool service another go.

Thanks for the help!! good luck!

Thanks for your kind words. Just out of interest - I can see that you have made a track. When you tracked did your phone show your location on a map?
