Would it be possible to start a thread with a list of all phones tested and supported, including which network they are on.  Tested and confirmed compatible GPS units would also be good.

My particular interest is, has anyone got a T-mobile Vario II, on T-mobile Flex25 with web’n’walk, working using a CPIT Bluetooth GPS unit?

Hi Mat, great idea. Out of interest are you struggling to get Map My Tracks to work for you?

I am struggling, yes.  Haven’t made any more progress than my post in the Tech Support thread the other week.

But also, i am nearing the end of my T-mobile contract, so I need to decide if I want to upgrade my phone (possibly to one with inbuilt GPS), or negotiate with T-mobile and keep my VarioII.  An influencing factor would be which phones others have working well with MMT.

Hi Mat,
I’ve been looking into your never ending swirls problems you reported in the Technical Support thread and will get back to you shortly. You do seem to be doing everything right but in our experience, Windows Mobile handsets do tend to be a bit stubborn with Java and Bluetooth / network connections.

A good phone to go for with a built in GPS would be the N95 (either standard or the 8gb version). However, one thing to keep in mind is the battery life of the phone when it’s using it’s internal GPS at it will only last a few hours.

Regards,
Rob

Thats interesting, i would have thought battery life would be quite good using internal GPS, as there is no bluetooth link to support, and GPS is receive only (which requires much less power than a transmitter)
