I’ve tried an installation from both the website via the phone browser and installing the jad/jar files from my PC.

The app loads and I can setup my GPS receiver, my username etc and start a track.

It starts finding me and sometimes starts drawing a map but then I get an application java out of memory error.

Any ideas?

I’ve tried clearing as much phone mem as I can and even restarting the phone (well I am in IT!) but no good…

Hi! Today I tested the new version of the Java application. After I recorded this track the following information was displayed on the phone:

time: 00:19:35
avg speed: 0.0 kph
distance: 0.0 kilometers
average pace per km: 00:00:00
fastest pace per km: 00:02:18

These are different from what I can see on the web interface (which seems correct). I will repeat the test soon…

Windows Smartphone & screen orientation redraw issue

Hi Maps.

Today’s bug, picky and niche again, but thought you’d appreciate the feedback.

Using an SPV S710 / Orange SPV R650, running Smartphone 6, there is a graphical error when re-orientating the screen.

If the program boots in portrait, but then is switched to landscape, an area at the top of the screen portrait-wise, or right of the screen landscape-wise, isn’t redrawn, continuing to display part of the Window’s Status bar (’Java’ and Battery icon) and program title (soft blue and ‘dashboard’).

This could be a Windows bug however, as even when one quits the program, back to the java program selection menu, the area still isn’t re-drawn over.

I can grab a second camera phone and take a picture if my description makes no sense.

It could be a simple fix within the program, or it could be an un-resolvable weakness in the Smartphone Java VM..

Hope this helps in some way.

Firefox 3 Beta 3 problem

Hi,

I was hesitating whether to post this or not since Firefox 3 is still Beta and I guess you have plenty of other things to do. :)

Anyway, if you load a track or your own track list into FF3 the right hand side of the screen (with the track list or data) jumps down below the map. I saw this on Windows2000 and XP. I never saw this with other browsers. It is probably a new bug in Firefox that they introduced in Beta 3 (Beta 2 was okay). I think it is good to be prepared for it. Who knows whether it will be corrected later…

I can send screenshots if it helps.

Best regards, Zsolt

Windows Smartphone & Java keypad issue

Hi guys.

Big fan of what you have achieved with this app, but I thought I should log my bugs as I find them..

First one, and I’m not smart enough to diagnose it, but with my Orange SPV E650 / HTC S710, using the keypad or the pull out qwerty keyboard, it is impossible to enter a zero numeric ‘0’ - on the keypad (or strangely keyboard) zero is interpreted as a space.

Secondly, backspace, again with either keypad or keyboard, removes one character, but then asks if the user wants to quit.

Creating consistent user experiences over different phone models using Java must be a nightmare!

If you’d like I’ll keep tracking discoveries as I find them.

Regards,

jhm.

No position marker on IE6

Hi,

I managed to reproduce the disappearing position marker problem on IE6. If I start the browser and then load a track for the first time the marker is visible. If I simply reload the same page or load any other tracks, there is no marker.

After that I deleted all cookies, reloaded the page and it did not help.

Mysterious behavior from a browser that one page affects another subsequent page without using cookies…

I hope this helps you to track down the problem.

Regards, Zsolt
