UPDATE: Server downtime

09/07/2008 | Posted by Nick | Permalink

As part of our ongoing programme of improvements Map My Tracks will be offline later today while we migrate to a new server. This will result in the service being offline for at least two hours. Some users may suffer longer down time as propagation completes.

So why are we doing this?

It’s simple, the changes will make Map My Tracks faster and more able to deal with the increasing load that tracking places on our servers. We have users in over 60 countries tracking all the time and now is a good time to make sure that we have the right foundations in place to continue to expand our service.

Thanks for your patience during this migration.

UPDATE: We’re back.  For some users the interruption was short lived while the propagation completed. For some it may have been a little longer. Thanks for your patience during the migration to new servers.
