Dinghy Sailing Magazine hails the advent of GPS tracking for the masses

29/04/2008 | Posted by Nick | Permalink

Hot on the heels of the announcement that Map My Tracks is providing real-time tracking for this year's Musto Skiff Nationals the Dinghy Sailing Magazine hails it as 'GPS tracking for the masses'.

image There is also a suggestion that there might be a drop in office productivity as workers watch the action on the web! While we don’t want to be blamed for work not getting done it might be acceptable to have a quick look during a lunch break! Each of the 12 races will be broadcast live and will be available to replay for post-race analysis.

The Musto Skiffs will be amongst the first non-Olympic class to benefit from live GPS tracking at their Nationals. We’ll be broadcasting live action of the 12 race series on the web so tune in on June 12 - 15 to see how they get on.
